Ranger fans will look at this as Ranger-hate, but their season is done. Losing Kreider and Shattenkirk will drastically affect their ability to score.
Now, I think trading McD is terrible. If I’m the Rangers I’m stockpiling picks in this deep draft by sending Nash and Grabner out. |

Rangers are done. We know this. Trading Mcd while his value is high is a great move if the return is going to blow them away. He turns 30 when his contract is up in 2019. He will command 7*7. The Rangers do not want to be locked in that long for that money at his age. |

I love that it says that those teams are interested in Hanifin, but nothing about the Canes interest in trading him...... |

Lol, my first thought was well they should probably quit talking with each other and have a conversation with Carolina. |

Agreed , I mean he's cheap salary cap wise for what he does, that bodes well for a budget team like Carolina |

McD hasn’t had his best season, but his average play is still far better than the average dman. I’d be looking to get Staal off the books somehow.
I know you guys have Skjei surging and D’Angelo developing, but having a dman like McD is not easy to just go out and get. |

Think it would be easier to list players Montreal not interest in . |

Shouldn't be waiting foir the next draft. Start the fixing process now. Everyone and their mother knows what we need. Top Center and Left side defense. They are out there. Don't trade for anything else. Pay what you need and get it done Bergevin or get out! Tired of this up and down crap. Let's put together a solid long term contender. Get the players that can do the job. Whether they have a french background or not does not matter. Look at the best teams in the league and the best players....the days of Damphousse, Richer, Lafleur and Belleveau are gone. Great history but it is just that, history. Time to make a team that will win the cup and make a new era of winning in Montreal based on great hockey players not just great "French" hockey players. |

If I''m Carolina my answer is
To Buffallo: You can keep Ryan O'reilley, I'll take Jake McCabe, Alex Nylander and a lottery protected 1st please.
To Montreal, you don't have what I need but if you really want Hannifin then we'll have to make a package. I will take Pancioretty but you also have to throw in Jordie Benn, Noah Julsen, and multiple picks including at least one unprotected 1st rounder.

Carolina would be stupid to trade him. He's 21 and is only going to get better. |

Trading McD will be a very tough decision to make. All the Ranger doubters that the Rangers are done really don't grasp the game of Ice Hockey! The Rangers aren't done and far from it. Just because of injury's doesn't mean they are out of the playoffs!!! It sounds like the same people crying about the begining of the Ranger season are crying again. Stop crying we are Ranger fans not Devils fans!!!
We have plenty of time to figure out if we are in the playoffs or not if we are then I am sure the Rangers will trade up if not then I would think its time for a total rebuild and players like Nash, Zucc, MaC and Hank should all be traded. Grabner on the other hand should be resigned for a discount at 3 to 3.25 M per for 3 years if not then we wouldn't get more than a second round pick anyway. However players listed above would get us 3 first round picks plus. I would love to pick up Nylander from Toronto and Keller from the Arizona. Which could leave us with 2 to 3 first round picks including our own. Regarding trading Hank we have to excellent prospect with one of them in the KHL who is a rock star in Igor Shestyorkin. |

Gotta move McD as his value is really high with that contract for another season. Unless he agrees to an extension today with a heavy hometown discount, then the Rangers must entertain offers for him. Otherwise, Rangers will be stuck with another Nash-like contract after next season. Moving him now will net a much higher return than moving him this time next season with his cap-friendly contract expiring. |

Of course we want to move Staal. Problem is he has NMC and hes awful. Hard to move. Mcd has great trade value right now and who ever signs him long term will hate that contract in 3 years. Rangers have made too many of those mistakes already. |

Some of these “trade proposals” and “interested” teams are ridiculous. Young teams on the rise aren’t trading away foundation pieces with which they are building from, and there are too many teams that are still in the hunt at this point, so they are reluctant to “unload” players. Not much is going to happen until closer to the deadline.
Unless some dumb GM is going to wildly overpay now. It’s still a wait and see game at this point. |
